Marc-André ter Stegen is back at base in Barcelona. The goalkeeper has returned from his holidays after winning the Confederations Cup with Germany in June. He trained alone on Monday morning as the main body of the squad have been given Monday and Tuesday off following the club’s US tour.

Ter Stegen will undergo medical tests on Tuesday along with André Gomes, who also competed in the Confederations Cup. The rest of the squad will resume training on Wednesday with a double session ahead of the final two pre-season friendlies: against Gimnàstic Tarragona on Friday at 8pm CET, and next Monday at 8.30pm CET against Chapecoense in the Joan Gamper Trophy.

After that, the real business gets underway with the Spanish Super Cup clashes against Real Madrid. Having won all three games in the US tour, the club’s preparations have been smooth sailing to date.
