Jordi Alba is in a great moment of form. The left-back from L'Hospitalet is having a wonderful season and his numbers confirm his pass completion rate at 86.74%. He has also delivered 10 assists in all competitions, the most for a defender in the League during 2017/18, and one more than Eibar’s José Ángel 'Cote.’

They are his best figures since becoming a Blaugrana, and if we analyse how these assists were given, seven of them have been with his left leg and three with the right. Lionel Messi is the one who has scored the most goals (seven) via an Alba assist, a sign of the great connection between the two players. The other three assists were for Luis Suárez (2) and Paco Alcácer (1).

Finally, if we look at Barça’s rivals, Celta are Alba’s favourite victim. Three assists have come against the Galician side, two in the Cup and the other in the League match played at the Camp Nou. Alba has also recovered the ball on 209 occasions during the current campaign.
