Record! Barça go 32 games unbeaten in La Liga

The 6-1 win against Girona means that the team surpass the record set by Pep Guardiola’s team in the 2010/11 season

Another historic record after an historic match: FC Barcelona have surpassed the club record for an unbeaten run of matches in La Liga, the 6-1 win over Girona at Camp Nou meaning they have now gone 32 games without losing in the Spanish League. As a result Barça move past the run of 31 matches set by Pep Guardiola’s team in the 2010/11 season.

The run for FC Barcelona began last season with Luis Enrique still in charge as coach in week 32 with a win over Real Sociedad. The blaugranes went on a run of seven games unbeaten until the end of the campaign and added to the 25 games unbeaten this season under Ernesto Valverde, the record has fallen.

In total the streak has included 27 wins and five draws and now the blaugranes have the league record of 38 games in their sights, a run put together by Real Sociedad with six games unbeaten in the season 1978/79 and then 32 games in the 1979/80 season.
