Javier Mascherano is leaving Barça, but he does so with a great record and good standing among Barça fans. A special player with great charisma, he has been one of the leaders of the dressing room during more than seven seasons in which he has defended the colours of FC Barcelona. Now, it's goodbye, but with great moments to reflect upon. As a tribute to all of them, we have retrieved an interview that he granted during the 2016/17 season for the BARÇA magazine and the 'Histories' programme on Barça TV.

We discover the Argentinian player’s human side and learn more about his family life. He acknowledged that he is a "very rare and lonely" type, who tries to isolate himself from the football bubble, but he also spoke unequivocally about his obsession with self-sufficiency, his fears and the satisfaction of being a father. He didn’t forget to express what it means to play for Barça either. Don’t miss this interview!
