Paulinho's adaptation to FC Barcelona is going very well. Even though the Brazilian midfielder has only played a total of 45 minutes across four games he has already shown how well he is settling in to his life as a blaugrana on and off the pitch. On Saturday, Barça’s number ‘15’ bossed the midfield for when he was on the pitch against Getafe. He also conjured up the crucial winner that completed Valverde’s team’s comeback 2-1 win.

Paulinho completes 88.69% of his passes and is lethal in front of goal

f you break down those 45 minutes across La Liga and the Champions League, he has completed 49 passes with a completion rate of 88,69%. Moreover, he has been ruthless in front of goal with one shot on target leading to one goal scored. Paulinho scored with a shot to the far past that went past Guaita in the 84th minute at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez to give Barça the win and keep their perfect league run alive and their place at the top of the table.

It is worth remembering that the FC Barcelona midfielder arrived on 14 August from Guangzhou Evergrande, and he is known for his strength, finishing, versatility. His qualities are becoming more and more apparent as he continues his integration into Barça’s squad.

History repeats

With the goals from Denis Suárez and Paulinho, FC Barcelona won their match against Getafe 2-1. Both players started on the bench and they came on in the second half to try and change the course of the game. The last time two subs scored for Barça was in the 2012/13 season when Tito Vilanova was the manager. The two goalscorers on that night were Lionel Messi and David Villa but interestingly it was also in the fourth league fixture of the season against Getafe.
