Leo Messi has done it again! What a performance at the Santiago Bernabéu, as the Argentinian took centre stage on the biggest stage of all – El Clásico, where anything but a win would have left Barça as good as out of the Liga title chase.

But it all came good in the end, with Leo Messi battling his way through the first half with a bleeding mouth after a clash with Marcelo’s elbow but still managing to score a marvellous goal, beating Modric for pace and skipping round Carvajal to slot the ball past Keylor Navas and level things at 1-1 after 33 minutes.

But the icing on the cake came in the very last move of the game. A move that started with a blistering run out of defence by Sergi Roberto was finished off by the Argentinian – what a way to score the 500th goal of his career, and a record 23rd in games against Real Madrid, and his 31st of the league season that still keeps him in pole position in the chase for the European Golden Shoe (three more than Bas Dost of Sporting Lisbon and four more than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund.

All in all, a night that furthers the legend of Leo Messi and one that’s worth remembering in our great video above!
