Messi celebrates one of his two goals away to Osasuna on Saturday | MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

Leo Messi has done it again! His two goals on Saturday at El Sadar move him right to the top of the Liga goalscoring charts with eleven goals, one more than team-mate Luis Suárez (who also scored in Pamplona) and also Cristiano Ronaldo (who Real Madrid are resting this weekend ahead of the Club World Cup.).

Today’s was Messi’s fourth brace of the current season and the third of his career at the home of Osasuna. And another juicy nugget for stats fans – this was the sixth time this season that both Messi and Suárez have found the target, and when the two of them score, Barça always win! Let's take a closer look at the Argentina-Uruguay connection in the FCB frontline...

The game at Mestalla was a thriller. Barça dominated but didn't settle the points until the very last minute when Messi converted from the penalty spot. The Argentinian had opened the scoring as well, while Suárez cancelled out the Sevilla comeback.

The Sánchez Pizjuán bore witness to another corker. Suárez and Messi were outstanding and it was their brilliance that ultimately tipped the balance in favour of the Catalans. A goal each and three vital points.

And so to Saturday's game at Osasuna. Suárez was at El Sadar for the first time ever, and it was he tapped in the opener. He's now scored against 22 of the 24 Liga teams that he's ever played against. And Messi? Bang! Bang! Two goals to secure his fourth brace of the league season.
