Luis Suárez and Varane battling for the ball | MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

The first Clásico of the campaign between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place on 3 December at 4.15 at Camp Nou, it was announced on Monday.

Last season saw the two sides claim one victory each over the two league encounters; Barça earned a big 4-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu in the opening round of the 2015/16 season with goals from Neymar, Iniesta and Suárez, while Madrid managed a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou later on in the season.

The last meeting saw the Camp Nou faithful pay their respects to the late great Johan Cruyff shortly after he passed away with a mosaic bearing the message "Gràcies Johan" (Thanks Johan).
