Garcia Pimienta’s Barça U19A side, aware that this was an important match, played on the attack throughout and were deserving winners over Atlético Madrid by 2-0. The victory sees them qualify into the Final Four of the UEFA Youth League.

Both goals in the first half

The match began with chances at both ends, Barça going closest. Consistent pressure from the hosts eventually got its reward when Alejandro Marqués took advantage of a Miranda cross to send the ball past Atleti keeper Dos Santos. Five minutes before the break, a shot from Collado doubled the lead.

Though the visitors tried their best to get back into the game, Barça played intelligently and sensibly and Marqués almost added a third after a great move by Carles Pérez.

In the last few minutes of the match Atlético became more desperate, but Barça had no problems in keeping them at bay.

This weekend the U19A side will host Lleida.
