Barça B march inexorably towards the league title with another victory at home to Lleida thanks to the only goal of the game from Kaptoum after just three minutes. That was the fifth win in a row for Gerard López’s team and their 10th without defeat and next week they could be crowned champions in Group 3 of the Second Division B.

The game got off to the best possible start for the home side with a goal inside the opening five minutes. Cucurella worked his way down the left hand side and his cross was met perfectly by Kaptoum to make it 1-0.

Barça had more of the ball in the opening half and Perea came close to making it 2-0 when his shot came back of the woodwork. The visitors’ best chance fell to Casares, the Lleida going close with an effort just over the bar.

In the second half Barça B looked for the second to kill the game off as a contest. However, it was Lleida who had the first opportunities after the break. Nierga went close as did Quintillà just minutes later.

Gerard López’s team took their time to wrestle the initiative back and when they did, Alfaro and Dani Romera both had chances for a second which they failed to take.

A great save from Varo helped Barça B hang on to their advantage and the three points give them a 10 point lead over Alcoyano and they could wrap up the title next weekend against Hospitalet.
