The FC Barcelona roller hockey side took a 2-1 win away from home in the Les Comes pavilion against Igualada Rigat HC to take a 2-1 lead in the best of five league semi-final play off. Sunday will see the blaugranes have a chance to seal a place in the final with a win in game four.

Early strike

Barça started well in the away game at Igualada with Llorca going close before Ferran Font put the blaugranes ahead on seven minutes. Igualada reacted well to falling behind and still in the first half Matías Pascual made it 1-1 with a well taken effort.

The visitors went close to taking the lead before half time through efforts from Font, Marc Grau and Alabart before Barça keeper Sergi Fernández showed his worth with a penalty save just before the break.

Second half reward

In the second half the game followed a similar pattern to the first. Chances for both teams came and went and just when a draw looked the most likely outcome, Ferran Font stepped up with an excellent solo effort to hand Barça a valuable 2-1 win.

The blauganes have a chance to seal a place in the final with a win in game four on Sunday which starts at 12.30pm CEST.
