The FC Barcelona roller hockey side began the new era with Ricard Ares as coach with a 7-5 victory over Voltregà in the Catalan League. The blaugranes streaked ahead into a 4-0 lead but their opponents fought back bravely, nevertheless, Ferran Font's four goals were decisive in Barça taking the win. 

Great start

With coach Ricard Ares in his first game in charge, the blaugranes could not have started in better fashion. Three goals in three minutes opened the contest for Barça, two from Ferran Font and one from Xavi Barroso sending them into an early lead. Before 20 minutes were up, Pablo Álvarez made it 4-0 as half time approached. 

However, Voltregà had other ideas and three goals before half send them right back into the contest. 

Barça come out on top 

The to and fro continued in the second half. Alabart put Barça ahead 5-3 only for Voltregà to come back to within a goal again. Another goal from Ferran Font restored the blaugranes' two goal lead, his best of the evening, a spectacular free hit. 

Voltregà came back to within a goal once again in the final minutes but a fourth for Font sealed a first win under new coach Ricard Ares.
