FC Barcelona's new centre-back, Jeison Murillo, stated in his presentation that "it's a great sensation and a plus to be at the best Club in the world." The defender, who will wear the number 17, appeared in the Ricard Maxenchs press room before the media, after his first steps onto the Camp Nou pitch as a Blaugrana.
Murillo, who was accompanied by the vice president of sport, Jordi Mestre, and the technical secretary of the first team, Éric Abidal, highlighted his desire to start playing and indicated that he is "very happy for the opportunity,” as well as pointing out that it’s "a dream come true to play for Barça.”
For Abidal, the new player is "a central defender that has the profile to play as a full-back,“ and he also added that Murillo is a footballer "with character, who is fast and forceful in defensive areas.”
In addition, the Colombian highlighted his experience in the League and indicated that "I have always tried to give 100% to the clubs I've been at, and so I will do it here." Asked about the opportunity to play with Lionel Messi, Murillo explained that "it will be a great advantage and hopefully I can help him and the team to achieve the Club's goals."
