Neymar will make his contract extension official on Friday 21, October at 3.00pm CET at the Club offices.
As the Club has already announced, the striker's contract extension with FC Barcelona will tie him to the blaugranes until 30 June 2021.
Neymar came to FC Barcelona from Brazilian club Santos ahead of the 2013/14 season. Since coming to Barça, the striker has matured into one of the best players in the world. The man who wears the number 11 shirt came third in the Ballon d’Or in 2016, behind the winner and team mate Leo Messi. Neymar, together with the Argentine and Luis Suárez, now forms part of the most spectacular attacking trio in the world. The threesome scored 122 goals in 2014/15 and 131 goals last season between them, a record figure.
With regards to trophies, he has won everything with Barça, a total of nine so far: 2 leagues, 2 Copas del Rey, a UEFA Champìons League, a UEFA Super Cup, 2 Spanish Super Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup. Neymar has played a key role in all this success, scoring important goals in the 3-1 win over Juventus in the 2015 Champions League final and in the 2-0 extra-time victory over Sevilla in last season’s Copa del Rey.
The Brazilian has played 149 games for Barça and scored 90 goals since his arrival in 2013. This season he currently has a total of five goals in eight matches with Luis Enrique’s team.
