FC Barcelona B 2-0 CE Sabadell: Back to winning ways

Second half brace from Dani Romera puts an end to three-match run without a win and sends reserves back into the leading pack

After three disappointing results, Barça B took three much-needed points from a convincing 2-0 defeat of Sabadell at the Miniestadi on Saturday. Dani Romera scored both goals in the second half and the result puts the reserves back among the leaders in a tight division.

Sabadell seemed willing to cede the initiative to Barça B from the outset and the home side’s dominance was almost made to count early on by both Moisés and Gumbau. Limited to the counter-attack, the visitors created very little at all in the way of real danger for the first 45 minutes.

After the break, it only took three minutes for the deadlock to be snapped. Alfaro collected the ball in the area to set up Romera’s half-volleyed goal, his first of the season. All Barça needed now was to seal the deal, and they did that through the same player, this time converting with his head.

Sabadell were powerless to find any kind of reaction, and their hopes dwindled to nothing when Ian González was red carded for a fierce tackle off the ball on Romera. From then on, it was full steam ahead for Gerard López’s side, who’ll be looking to made it two wins in a row when they visit Llagostera next Saturday at 6.30pm CET.
