FC Lampedusa St. Pauli visit FC Barcelona women’s team
The team formed by refugees visit training session at Ciutat Esportiva
FC Lampedusa St. Pauli, formed by refugees and managed by three professional players of the German team, visited the FC Barcelona women’s team on Wednesday.
Before the session at Ciutat Esportiva, Barça Femeni captain Marta Unzué joined the squad for a group photo.
FC Lampedusa St. Pauli were in Catalonia to receive the City to City Barcelona FAD 2016. It is an award that recognises international urban initiatives that improve the daily lives of the citizens and is sponsored by the FC Barcelona Foundation.
It was not the first time that the amateur team stepped on the Ciutat Esportiva turf as, last Sunday, they faced the Supporters Club Confederation. Their appearance at the women’s team’s training session sealed the end of their activities organised by the FCB Foundation.
