Atlético Saguntino v FC Barcelona B: Character brings comeback victory (1-3)

Gerard López’s team come from behind for a valuable three points which keeps them top of the table

FC Barcelona B came from behind to score a precious three points against Atlético Saguntino which keeps them top of the table (1-3).

The hosts were causing problems for the Catalans early on and came very close to breaking the deadlock after 29 minutes but Esteve’s header was well saved by Suárez in the Barça goal.

Saguntino scored the opener just eight minutes later and there was nothing Suárez could do about this effort as Gimeno’s long range effort was too powerful to stop. Barça’s task got a great deal tougher shortly after as Borja López was given a straight red card.

Gerard López’s team were forced to remain patient in their pursuit of a leveller but the game really changed when Esteve was shown a second yellow card on 73 minutes, bringing it back to a equal number of players for each side.

Two minutes later, Barça were level through Perea’s powerful strike. And the turnaround, which looked unlikely at the break, was complete with eight minutes remaining through Romera.

In the very last minute of the game, a Barça counterattack ended with Alfaro converting from close range to hand the team a vital three points to remain top of the table.
