Wembley will always be a talismanic stadium, full of great memories for FC Barcelona. This is largely down to the fact that Barça claimed their first ever European Cup victory in 1992. Now, 25 years later that historic achievement that changed the course of the Club’s history is being remembered. Let us not forget also that Barça’s fourth victory in the competition in 2011 also came in the famous London stadium.
This Friday, Wembley celebrates 10 years since its redevelopment in 2007. To honour this occasion, he stadium was lit up with the colours of all 160 teams who have played at least one game there during that decade. FC Barcelona was represented thanks to that win in 2011 in the famous Champions League final against Manchester United. Victory gave Barça their fourth trophy in the competition and now the Club’s colours have formed part of the stadium’s history.
