Ter Stegen says bid for Champions League starts here

For the Barça keeper 'Juventus have a lot of individual talent but they also work hard as a team' When and where to watch Baça v Juve

Marc-André ter Stegen has appeared in press conference prior to the game against Juventus on Tuesday at Camp Nou (kick off 8.45pm CET). “Up until now we are in good shape, we have started the league well and we want to challenge for every trophy. On Tuesday we have a chance to start our bid for the Champions League, but it will be tough,” summed up the German goalkeeper.

The sides met last season in the quarter-finals with the Italians coming out on top. “We are not looking for revenge for last season, we have to be focused on this season and show what we are capable of,” said Ter Stegen.

With regards to the difference in the squad with regards to last season, the shot stopper had this to say: “We have changed a little bit due to the coach’s ideas. It’s another way of playing but we have the team to play this system. We haven’t conceded a goal in the three league games we have played and we have won all three so the feeling is good for the Champions League.”

Asked about his opposite number, Gigi Buffon, Barça’s German keeper could not hide his admiration. “He is a hero for me and the world of football and I have a lot of respect for him,” he said of the veteran Italian.
