Video: Camp Nou's deafening silence speaks volumes

October 1st, 2017 will forever be remembered as the day an eerie quiet pervaded Camp Nou while Barça played behind closed doors in solidarity with its countrymen

On Sunday 1 October at Camp Nou, an unusual and unprecedented pages was written in the stadium's sixty year history. The blaugranes' home witnessed its first ever game behind closed doors with not a single fan in the ground after the Club decided that the fixture would go ahead without spectactors as a way of showing its disagreement with the Professional Football League's decision not to officially postpone the game. 

The game itself saw Barça run out 3-0 winners over Las Palmas thanks to a goal from Sergio Busquets and two from Leo Messi. The victory sees Ernesto Valverde's team go into the international break as league leaders with 21 points out of a possible 21 and a run of nine successive wins in all competitions.
