CD Numancia – Barça B: No reward in Soria (1-0)

First away defeat of the season for the team agains the team with the best home record in the league

Gerard López’s side went down to defeat in Soria against Numancia thanks to a late penalty which condemned them to a third reverse of the season in the league. The home side’s Guillermo scored from the spot in the 83rd minute to hand the home side the win even though Barça B had plenty of chances to have taken a point at least.

The blaugranes enjoyed lots of possession in the early stages with Aleñá going close with a free kick. Numancia piled on the pressure thereafter and Barça B keeper Adrià Ortolà played a huge part in keeping the scoreline goalless at the break.

At half-time coach Gerard López tried to shake things up by bringing on Concha for Vitinho and Sarsanedas for Fali. Initially it worked with Barça B dominating the early exchanges after the restart, Concha going close to giving the visitors the lead.

Towards the end of the contest the game opened up. Numancia had chances to take lead with Pere Milla coming within inches of opening the scoring. With just over 10 minutes left, Arnaiz had Barça B’s best chance of the game. His effort was only thwarted by a great save from local keeper Aitor Fernández. Just a couple of minutes later Guillermo scored the penalty that would give the home side all three points.
