The Brazilian will take over the shirt that has been worn by such names as Thierry Henry and Javier Mascherano
Now we know officially which shirt number Philippe Coutinho will wear in his first season as a Barça player. The Brazilian signed for FC Barcelona on 6 January and will wear the number 14 shirt left vacant by the departure of Javier Mascherano after seven and a half seasons with the blaugranes.
Aside from the Argentine, other players in recent seasons have worn the number 14 such as Jordi Cruyff, Amunike, Gerard López and Thierry Henry.
Coutinho will be the 7th blaugrana to wear the number 14 and it will be a first for the Brazilian as he has worn the numbers 7, 10, 23, 29 and 30 previously in his career.
