The mouth-watering clash between FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid sees a fascinating match up also between the posts with Marc-André ter Stegen and Jan Oblak the two goalkeepers who have conceded fewest in La Liga so far in 2017/18.

Both have appeared in all 26 matches so far in the league for their respective clubs, some 2,340 minutes out on the field. Currently, Atlético Oblak is in the lead for the Zamora trophy, the award for the goalkeeper who concedes fewest goals in La Liga. The Slovenian has only been beaten 11 times this season with Barça’s Ter Stegen just two behind on 13.

The two international goalkeepers are neck and neck with regards to the number of saves made, Oblak having made 71 and Ter Stegen 69.

Both players also contribute not just with their hands but also with their feet. Ter Stegen is in third place in the ranking of keepers who have made most passes with Oblak in 10th position. The German has made 494 short passes compared to Oblak’s 136 whilst the Barça man has made 314 long passes compared to his Atlético counterpart’s 446.
