With his strike against Atlético Madrid, the Argentine reaches another milestone in his time with Barça and Argentina
Another landmark figure falls to Leo Messi. After his goal against Atlético at Camp Nou on Sunday, the Barça number 10 has reached 600 goals in his professional career with Barça and the Argentine national side.
The first of his 539 with Barça and 61 with Argentine came on 1 May 2005 at Camp Nou. Messi, wearing the unfamiliar number 30 shirt, received a pass from none other than Ronaldinho bearing lifting the ball over the goalkeeper in a league game against Albacete.
Goal number 599 came from a fantastic free kick to beat Las Palmas keeper Chichizola in the 1-1 draw in the Estadio Gran Canaria and number 600 came in very similar fashion, this time beating Jan Oblak against Diego Simeone’s team. Messi's hunger goals does not diminish with age as he extends his total as Barça's leading all time scorer.
