Aleksander Sekulic is enjoying his first few days as FC Barcelona basketball coach. At his presentation last Wednesday 5 August, the Slovenian said that it is a “great honour and a responsibility” to coach one of Europe’s best clubs and an institution regarded as “more than a club”.

The new Barça coach is well aware of the passion for basketball at the Palau Blaugrana, which he has previously visited as a spectator. And one of the first things he wanted to do during his first few days in Barcelona was visit the spectacular FC Barcelona Museum. On a guided tour, he was able to discover the history of the Club and, in particular, that of the basketball section, which will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its creation on 24 August.

Sekulic was accompanied on the visit by board member Sisco Pujol, director of professional sports Xavi O’Callaghan, sporting director Xevi Pujol, technical secretary Mario Bruno Fernández and new coaching staff members Jurica Zuza, Jernej Valentincic and Marc Estany.
