FC Barcelona is saddened by the passing of former player Andrés Parada Alvite, better known in football as Suco. Born in Santa Uxía de Ribeira (A Coruña) on 27 September 1938, the winger played for the club between 1959 and 1961 after joining from Racing de Ferrol.

His nickname came from the diminutive Andresuco, which is what he was called as a child. Wearing the Barça shirt, he made just 14 official appearances and scored two goals over two seasons. Although he consistently performed well, he was unable to overcome the fierce competition from the great stars of the era, including Tejada, Kocsis, Villaverde, Evaristo, Kubala, Eulogio Martínez, Czibor, Ribelles, Luisito Suárez and Coll.

In 1961, he left Barça to play successively for Racing de Santander, Valencia and Deportivo. He passed away on 4 July 2026, in Ferrol (A Coruña).
