Joel Parra joined Barça with the aim of developing his professional career. Since then he has won over the blaugrana fans based on tireless effort and constant development that sees him now one of the cornerstones of the project and extending his contract with the Club until 30 June 2030. “I am very happy for the confidence and opportunity I am being given. I wanted to play a key role when I arrived and I will try to give that confidence back through effort, work and by being an example”, he stated to the Club's media.

The blaugrana number 44 is aware that “these have been tough years when it comes to trophies, day to day, injuries”, but that he is in no doubt that “we will create a new project again, with new faces, a lot of work is being done to get the best possible outcome” and his message to the fans is clear, “those of us here will give 100% to defend this badge as it deserves”.

With a long period ahead before taking to the court again, Parra explained that he “can't wait and is motivated for this new challenge” and is aware that “there are so many games in basketball today and so much demand that all the work you can do during summer will help you be in better physical shape, start preseason in the right way and feeling fit. That will help me begin in the best possible way and compete for everything, which is what we want”.

The small forward has improved his stats season on season. All the same, he believes he can keep improving them. “I set the target of gradually developing when I joined, as a player and as a person. I am happy and proud of all the work I am doing, but I know I can still go further and that's my mindset for the coming years”.

Aged 26 years old, the Catalan has played 223 for Barça, 112 in the Liga Endesa, 97 in the EuroLeague, 6 in the Copa del Rey, 1 in the Spanish Super Cup and 7 in the Lliga Catalana. The fans at the Palau are set to enjoy the number 44 for four seasons more.
