FC Barcelona and AS Monaco have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ansu Fati. The 23-year-old striker brings to an end his time as a blaugrana after making 123 appearances for the first team, scoring 29 goals. The Club retains a percentage of any future sale.

Born in Bissau, the capital of Guinea Bissau on 31 October 2002, the striker moved to Seville at the age of six where he began in the youth team set up at Sevilla. In 2012, at the age of 10, he joined the FC Barcelona youth teams before making his official debut with the first team in the 2019/20 season.

Goalscorer and precocious record breaker

At the age of just 16 years and 298 days, his first appearance for Barça came in a league game against Betis. On 31 August 2019, in a game against Osasuna in El Sadar, Ansu Fati became one of the youngest players ever to score in the league for Barça. The striker, aged just 16 years and 304 days, scored with a well-placed header in the 2-2 draw in Pamplona.

Ansu Fati scored his first goal in the Champions League the same season against Internazionale in the Giuseppe Meazza stadium aged just 17 years and 40 days, beating a record in the competition that had stood since 1997.

During his time at Barça, Fati also had spells on loan away from Spotify Camp Nou. In the second half of the 2023/24 season he featured for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion before spending the 2025/26 on loan as AS Monaco.

FC Barcelona would like to thank Ansu Fati publicly for his commitment, dedication and his contribution during his time as a blaugrana, and wishes him all the best for the future both on and off the field.
