The 2026 World Cup group stage is over and a whole host of FC Barcelona players will be in the knockout phase. No fewer than 15 of the 16 blaugranes could potentially feature in the last 32 round, with only Ronald Araujo saying goodbye to the tournament, as Uruguay went out after losing to Spain.
This means those still in the hunt for the title are Raphinha with Brazil; Frenkie de Jong with the Netherlands; Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsí, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres with Spain; Hamza Abdelkarim with Egypt; Jules Koundé with France; João Cancelo with Portugal; and Anthony Gordon and Marcus Rashford with England.
Cubarsí features most
After the three group stage matches, Pau Cubarsí is the blaugrana with most minutes at the World Cup. The centreback is the only FC Barcelona player to play every minute of all three games. Other blaugranes have started the three group stage fixtures for their respective national teams, but Cubarsí is the only one to play all 270+ minutes.
Jules Koundé is closest for France, having played 260 minutes in his three starts. Frenkie de Jong has also started three matches for the Netherlands, playing 222 minutes, while Pedri is a key player for Spain, getting 221 minutes under his belt. João Cancelo has also started all three matches for Portugal, totalling 182 minutes after being substituted twice at half-time.
When it comes to the other blaugranes, Lamine Yamal has been featuring more as the tournament has progressed, totalling 141 minutes so far, one more than Ferran Torres (140) and four more than Anthony Gordon, who despite only playing in the first two games, has played 137 minutes. Raphinha was a starter for Brazil, but an injury after 40 minutes in the second match, sees him stalled on 130 minutes so far. Marcus Rashford has now played 115 minutes, after coming off the bench in the first two before starting the final group match. Dani Olmo has played 102 minutes, with one start and two substitute appearances, while Gavi got 71 minutes in the first match for Spain. Hamza Abdelkarim has come on in all three games for Egypt, totalling 45 minutes on the pitch.
The only blaugranes yet to feature at the World Cup are Joan Garcia and Eric Garcia, both with Spain, plus Ronald Araujo, who didn't feature for Uruguay before they were eliminated.
Last 16 the next target
It's a knockout format from here on in. The first blaugrana potentially in action is Raphinha, with Brazil taking on Japan on 29 June at 7.00pm. Then on 30 June, the Netherlands and Frenkie de Jong will play Morocco (3.00am), while at 11.00pm that same day, France and Jules Koundé face Sweden. The following day on 1 July, England with Anthony Gordon and Marcus Rashford play the Democratic Republic of the Congo at 6.00pm. On 2 June at 9.00pm, Spain, featuring up to eight blaugranes, will take on Austria. Lastly on 3 July, Portugal and João Cancelo will play Croatia (1.00am), before Egypt and Hamza Abdelkarim will aim to overcome Australia (8.00pm). All times CEST.
Many blaugranes in both sides of the draw
The route to the final is already determined. Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and France are on the same side of the draw, meaning some of the blaugranes may face each other in the coming rounds. The other side sees Brazil, England and Egypt all vying to reach the World Cup final.
