France and Barça defender Jules Kounde are into the last 32 of the 2026 World following their 3-0 win over Iraq on Monday in Philadelphia. Two goals from Mbappé and another from former blaugrana Ousmane Dembélé made it two wins in two matches for Didier Deschamps team in Group I, enough to book a place in the knock out stages ahead of their final group game against Norway.

The Scandinavians win over Senegal saw them book their place in the next round and now France and Norway will meet in the final game of the group to decide top spot.

France and Norway are the latest countries to make it to the knockout stages with Mexico, USA, Germany and Argentina also through after two group games.
