The roller hockey season rolls on for FC Barcelona after a 5-3 win over Noia Freixenet gave them a 2-1 aggregate win in the tie and a place in the semi-finals of the OK League play offs. The decisive game in the Palau Blaugrana was a tough affair but the finishing of Ricard Ares' team was the difference as the blaugranes continue on in search of the title.
Initial blow
After defeat in game two of the series, Barça knew they had to match Noia's intensity. However, it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the third minute of the contest when Jan Curtiellas put Noia ahead. Barça did not take long to react as Marc Grau pounced on a loose ball to make it 1-1 on 8 minutes.
More chances came for the blaugranes and on 17 minutes they were when Pablo Álvarez deflected a shot from Lorca to make it 2-1. However, two goals in two minutes from Noia
A man up after a blue card for Noia's Xavi Costa, Barça made their advantage pay when Eloi Cervera made it 3-1 on 20 minutes. The intensity did not let up and there were more chance but no more goals as the blaugranes went in at the break 3-1 up.
At the start of the second half Eloi Cervera added a second for himself and a fourth for Barça to make it 4-1 and the game seemed over as a contest. However, two goals in two minutes from Noia set the alarm bells ringing with Curtiellas and then Gelmà scoring to make it 4-3 with still over 10 minutes to go. Barça were pushed to the limit but a goal from Llorca right at the death with the visitors pushing forward secured the win and a place in the semi-finals of the league play offs.
