The day has finally come with Barça Women facing OL Lyonnes in the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway, kick off at 6pm CEST. The blaugranes will be looking for a fourth win in the competition in their fourth final in the Champions League against the French club.

The club from Lyon are the most successful in the competition's history but Barça are making their sixth consecutive appearance in the final so there are no clear favourites for the title.

Another chapter

FC Barcelona and OL Lyonnes have a long history in the competition with Saturday's game being the fourth final between the two sides in the Champions League. The French side came out on top in 2019 and in 2022 with the blaugranes winning the most recent meeting in 2024. Oslo will be the venue as the two giants of women's football in Europe battle it out again for the continent's ultimate prize.

The blaugranes come into the final after a highly impressive campaign in Europe. After coming through the league phase with flying colours, Pere Romeu's side have beaten Real Madrid in the quarter-finals and Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. OL Lyonnes, coached by former Barça boss Jonatan Giráldez, came through the league phase in second place and went on to defeat Wolfsburg in the last eight before disposing of reigning champions Arsenal in the semis.

Quality names

The fact that the two best teams in Europe are going head to head can be seen from the names that will be involved in Saturday's final. Barça have the goalscoring prowess of Ewa Pajor, the experience of captain Alexia in midfield and Mapi León at the back. OL Lyonnes can boast names such as Engen, Dumornay, Chawinga and Hegerberg in their talented squad.

Barça Women in the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo will be looking to add the European crown to their domestic treble of league, Spanish Super Cup and Copa de la Reina to round off yet another wildly successful season.
