Barça Women midfielder Alexia Putellas is focused ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against OL Lyonnes. The blaugrana captain is the leader of a successful side who can now take on the French team on an equal footing after the success of recent years.
"I am really focused on doing my best to help the team as I have done all season," said the Barça number 11. "I am really excited about this competition and we will always give everything for the jersey," added the Catalan legend of women's football.
"In a final anything can happen but we will try control things as much as we can. It's football and there is always uncertainty. We are the two best teams in Europe and it will be a hard fought game."
The two teams are no strangers to meeting in the final as this will be the fourth time they have met to decide the Champions League. Remembering the first game, a 4-1 defeat in Budapest for the blaugranes in 2019, Alexia said: "In the first game they beat us well and we realised that there was work to do to reach their level. And then we did that."
In Oslo, the two teams meet again with things much more finely poised. "We have developed a lot. They have been at the top for a long time but we have caught up really quickly," reasoned Alexia.
"The previous finals are not a factor; nevertheless, they do give you experience and motivation. We never like to lose but it can be a way of improving," said Alexia before mentioning the important of the fans, especially those who will be behind in the team in Norway.
Graham Hansen: "I am ready to give my all"
Norwegian winger Caroline Graham Hansen also appeared in the pre-game press conference in Oslo alongside her captain. The Norwegian capital is also her home town and Graham Hansen has recovered from injury to be ready to play a part in the final. "I have been able to train over the last few weeks and I am confident, and ready to give my all," said the blaugranes before adding her excitement about playing the final in Oslo, and the possibility of winning the Champions League in her home country.
