Barça have begun the league quarter final play offs in the best possible fashion with a 2-1 home win over Noia Freixent in the Palau Blaugrana. Goals from Eloi Cervera and Ignacio Alabart gave them victory in a tight encounter that was not decided until the second half. 

Ricard Ares' team started the game in dominant fashion, Ferran hitting the post early on, the first of several chances for the blaugranes in the first half. The frame of the goal denied both Pablito and Ortigosa before the sides left for the half time break still locked together at 0-0. 

Two goals in two minutes 

In the second half the game came to life. Barça went close again to opening the scoring before Eloi Cervera made it 1-0 on 34 minutes. Just 60 seconds later Alabart doubled his side's advantage at a key point in the contest. Despite conceding with 12 minutes to go when Esteller pulled one back for Noia, Barça held on in the Palau for a crucial 2-1 in the first game of the best of three tie with game two to come at Noia next Saturday.
