The league title is so close you can almost touch it. Two points away to be exact. Barça’s 2-1 victory away at Osasuna gives them 88 points, 14 ahead of Real Madrid who play on Sunday.

Champions if Real Madrid slip up

A draw or defeat for Álvaro Arbeloa’s team away at Espanyol would assure Barça of their 29th league title with five games of the season still to spare.

Next Sunday’s Clásico would be another opportunity to take the title if Real Madrid do pick up three points at Espanyol. The blaugranes would have an 11 point lead with just four games to go so a win or even a draw would be enough for another league title.

10 wins in a row in La Liga

The victory in Pamplona was their 10th consecutive win in La Liga, a run that has not happened since a streak that began in March 2016 with Luis Enrique as coach. On that occasion Barça managed to stretch that run to 12 wins in a row.
