Marcus Rashford was decisive once again this Saturday. The Englishman started the match on the bench but came on in the second half and scored the second of Barça's two goals against Getafe, sealing another victory to bring the Liga title even closer to Catalonia.
With this goal, FC Barcelona has consolidated its position as the team with the most goals scored by substitutes in La Liga: 17 in 33 games, ahead of Celta Vigo (16) and Atlético Madrid (15). Across Europe's top leagues, only Bayern Munich surpass these figures, with 18 goals in the Bundesliga from players who started on the bench.
The attacking contribution from the bench has been one of Barça’s key strengths this season. Of those 17 goals, Robert Lewandowski has scored six, Marcus Rashford four and Raphinha two. The list is completed by Dani Olmo, Ronald Araújo, Fermín López, Marc Bernal and Ferran Torres, each with one goal.
The record underlines the strength in depth of the current squad, which is proving to be a decisive factor in the crucial final stretch of the season.
