After the 1-1 draw in Germany in today's UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final first leg, Pere Romeu expressed his frustration at the outcome. “We know the ambition of this team" said the coach. "We always go out to win. We’re heading back to Barcelona with a draw that feels like too little, given the chances we had to make it 2-1.”
He also admitted that, once Bayern were reduced to ten players following Kett’s red card, Barça attacked “more with heart than with clarity” and failed to make the most of their numerical advantage.
Now the tie moves to Barcelona, and Romeu is clear about what could prove decisive in securing a place in the Oslo final: the Spotify Camp Nou. “Our fans always give us incredible support" he said. "And this time we’ll need them even more. With our people behind us, we’ll have that extra energy we need for the second leg.”
There’s little more to say. Everyone to the Spotify Camp Nou next Sunday 3 May. A place in another final is on the line!
