The Palau will host more EuroLeague action. Barça got the job done with a solid win over FC Bayern Munich (95–69), securing ninth place and, with it, a spot in the play-in this Tuesday against KK Crvena Zvezda at the Palau. The objective is clear: make home advantage count to stay alive in the race for the playoffs.

Farewell to a legend

Before tip-off, the parquet witnessed a highly emotional moment. Svetislav Pešić, a coach and a legend at the club, announced his retirement from the sidelines, and the game at the Palau coincided with his final EuroLeague appearance. With the entire arena on its feet, he received a richly deserved tribute.

Holding firm

Bayern started the game with slightly greater intensity, dominating the offensive boards and creating more scoring opportunities. Barça, without losing momentum, stayed right on the Germans’ heels but couldn’t draw level until Darío Brizuela came on. The guard proved decisive in balancing the contest, and in the final two minutes of the first quarter, with the second unit on court, Barça began to find their rhythm. A late three from Brizuela saw the hosts close the quarter one point ahead (20–19).

Up a gear

In the second quarter, Barça raised the intensity. Brizuela picked up where he left off with an early three (23–19). With 10 points since coming on, he led a run that forced Pešić into a timeout (29–21).

That surge was backed up by a very solid Moustapha Fall, who dominated the boards and finished efficiently inside to push Barça to a +10 lead. Barça took full advantage of Bayern’s struggles, extending the gap with simple and effective plays to reach 34–24 with three minutes to go before the break. Will Clyburn also stood out, sharp throughout and reaching 15 points, rounding off an excellent second quarter as Barça went into halftime with a clear 42–31 lead.

Straight to the play-in

After the restart, Barça maintained control with maturity and consistency. Without easing off, they continued to stretch their lead. Jan Veselý was the standout in the third period, adding nine points to consolidate the lead. With Bayern unable to respond, Barça delivered a complete team performance, with four players reaching double figures in scoring. The Palau, fully behind the team, enjoyed a comfortable closing stretch, even finding time to salute Clyburn’s display with MVP chants.

Barça thus sealed an impressive victory that boosts confidence at a crucial point in the season. With the play-in secured and the Palau set to host the next challenge, they head onward with both belief and ambition as they look to take another step towards the playoffs.
