The derby against Espanyol B saw the three points go to Barça Atlètic (3-1), as Juliano Belletti's side followed the first team's win yesterday with their own victory against their local rivals at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Víctor Barberá, Toni Fernández and Aziz were the scorers that helped the Barça development side continue their momentum with a second win in a row and keep their aspirations for at least a play-off place well on track.

Barberá puts Barça ahead

Barça B made a good start to the derby against Espanyol, as good play by Toni Fernández ended in an assist for Víctor Barberá, who finished perfectly past Llorenç Serred (1-0, min 8).

The goal seemed to stun Espanyol to some extent, but the game at the Estadio Johan Cruyff gradually settled down. Barça were controlling through possession, but Espanyol B were creating dangerous moments on the counter. All the same, Ureña fired over from great chance after Toni Fernández made the most of a mistake by Llorenç Serred when playing out from the back (min 38).

Derby victory confirmed

Barça Atlètic managed to grab an early goal in the second half again to extend the lead when Aziz passed inside before Toni Fernández fired in from the edge of the area (2-0, min 50).

The blaugranes' tails were up and they came close to a third from a shot by Ureña (min 52). All the same, Kochen was called in action to save two efforts by Almansa that would have seen Espanyol B right back in the game (min 66). However, Aziz snuffed out any chance of a comeback by scoring well after combining with Guillem Víctor (3-0, min 68).

Barça then managed the rest of the game well having such a clear lead and despite a tremendous goal by Lluc Castell in the final minutes (3-1, min 90), it was no more than a consolation and another three points for the reserves were confirmed.
