Dani Olmo was the star of a new live Q&A on FC Barcelona’s YouTube channel. During the session, the forward answered fans’ questions and shared his perspective on his career, his relationship with teammates, and the current state of the team. The standout topic was the Champions League quarter finals, where Olmo expressed full confidence: “It’s a scenario we expected. We went through it last year and we know it’s all or nothing. If we’re at our level, we can do it.”

The forward began by discussing different aspects of his game and his goal-scoring instinct. He acknowledged that he tries to analyze the context and his teammates’ movements, but that it ultimately comes naturally. He also explained that he feels comfortable playing as a false nine: “I’ve done it several times and I feel good.”

The Catalan detailed how he prepares for big matches: “I prepare the same way for a Champions League game as for any other; the goal is always to win.” He also expressed optimism about the tie against Atlético Madrid: “We’re motivated. Everyone remembers what happened in the Copa del Rey, and I see the team ready and eager to win.”

Squad unity

Speaking about the locker room, Olmo explained that he has a good relationship with many teammates: “I have good friends in the locker room. Eric and I have spent time together in the summer, and I’m also close with Pedri, Ferran, and Joan.”

On the lighter side, he highlighted Gavi as "one of the funniest, especially in training. When he’s competing or when he gets fired up.”

Influences and personal journey

On a more personal note, Olmo fondly recalled how he celebrated his return to Barça: “With family and friends. It was very special to come back after 10 years ... My parents and my brother have always been there for me. My mum took me to Croatia when I was young, my dad helped me take a step forward in my career, and I started playing with my brother.”

Finally, he reflected on the key to success: “You have to work very hard for your dreams. The challenge isn’t just getting there,it’s staying at that level. There are special moments, but the hardest part is to keep going and keep winning. The key is hard work, sacrifice, and never losing focus.”
