Robert Lewandowski delivered a masterclass against Newcastle United. The Polish striker struck twice in the second half, smashing records and proving once again that goals know no age.

Same as Stoichkov

His brace takes him into the Top 14 all-time Barça scorers. He now has 117 goals in just three seasons, drawing level with Hristo Stoichkov, with Patrick Kluivert (122) next in his sights.

All-time fourth in Champions League

Those two goals also move him up to fourth on Barça’s all-time Champions League scoring list. With 23 goals, he overtakes Kluivert and Neymar Jr (21 each) and now trails only Leo Messi (120), Luis Suárez (25) and Rivaldo (25).

41 UCL victims

Lewandowski also set another remarkable milestone: 41 different teams scored against in the Champions League, more than anyone else in history, even surpassing Messi (40).

Oldest European brace

And still rewriting the record books, Lewandowski is now the oldest player ever to score more than once in a Champions League match, at 37 years and 209 days, beating Filippo Inzaghi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
