Barça Legends and Real Madrid Leyendas shared a 2–2 draw in Santo Domingo, in an entertaining clash that drew a huge crowd. The blaugrana veterans were the better side for long stretches, but the game ended honours even.

Sergi Barjuan stole the show, scoring twice on his debut for the Barça Legends, including a stunning bicycle kick.

Barça controlled much of the opening spell, with Nolito lively and creating danger early on. Madrid also had their moments, though, and the first half produced chances at both ends, with Negredo striking the post in the best opportunity before the break.

The goals came quickly after half-time. Barça struck first when Nolito slipped a pass through for Barjuan, who arrived from deep to finish first time from the penalty spot.

Madrid responded almost immediately. Del Moral blasted a long-range equaliser into the top corner, and seconds later Congo finished a counterattack to put the Madrid side ahead.

Barça pushed back and finally got their reward when Sergi produced the moment of the night, a spectacular overhead kick from Navarro’s cross to make it 2–2.

The match also set an attendance record in Santo Domingo, with 16,472 spectators, the biggest crowd in the city in the last 50 years, numbers not seen since Pelé visited with the New York Cosmos.
