A 2-1 win for Barça Legends against Real Madrid Leyendas in Guadalajara (Mexico), as the blaugranes dominated the match at Estadio Akron, with Saviola grabbing a brace.

The two goals by the Argentinian may have sealed the victory, but the blaugranes controlled play and possession virtually the entire match in this latest Clásico.

Blaugranes in control

Barça went straight at it and soon dominated possession and play in the first half, which was to see the three goals in the game scored.

The first didn't take long to come in fact, after five minutes and from the first clear cut chance. Nolito slid through a wonderful pass to Saviola, who provided the quality finish into the top corner to open the scoring (1-0, min 5).

Barça went looking for more, and six minutes later, Nolito himself tried with a shot that went just wide. The closest the all-whites came was when a Raúl Bravo cross towards Morientes was put out for a corner authoritatively by Puyol. All the same, the blaugranes were controlling proceedings and Saviola popped up again soon after. A great pass by Mendieta this time saw the Argentinian finish low past Casillas to extend the lead (2-0, min 18).

Combining well and with long spells of possession, Barça didn't allow Real Madrid to settle and the fans at Estadio Akron were able to enjoy the performance by the blaugranes. Nolito was proving dangerous on the wing, while Gerard had the chance for a third with a header.

Despite the dominance, on one of the few forays forward by Real Madrid, the referee indicated a penalty for handball by Cocu. Hierro made no mistake from the spot to halve the lead (2-1, min 37), which would ultimately prove the final score.

The second half saw Barça dominate again and albeit Real Madrid had the odd chance to equalise, no further goals meant Barça Legends ran out winners once again.
