The best women's football is set to return to the Spotify Camp Nou on 2 April. Barca Women will host none other than Real Madrid for the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final return leg (kick-off 6.45pm CEST) in a notable fixture in the blaugrana calendar.
It will have been over 1,000 days since the blaugranes last played on the pitch in the stadium. That was on 27 April 2023 for a European semi-final match against Chelsea in a season when Barça would go on to be crowned European champions. The team are now returning home with the same desire to compete and continue to lead the way for football worldwide both on and off the pitch.
The return to the Spotify Camp Nou is more than just a sporting event; it is also a demonstration of how solidly the Club is behind the Barça Women project. Committing to play key matches in a large capacity stadium is testament to how the team have grown to become a global benchmark and a model to follow for new generations.
Barça Women have already written a chapter in history on this biggest stage, as 91,648 were present to watch a memorable Barça v Wolfsburg match, which marked a before and after moment for women's football. The Club are appealing to the fans – who always come through – to fill the stands once again and help the team through this important match. The unwavering support from the stands is a key strength for this team and a vital driver so they can continue to break new ground.
"Spotify Camp Nou. Our journey"
With the slogan "Spotify Camp Nou. Our journey", FC Barcelona present an inspirational video featuring players from Pere Romeu's side. They give a first-hand account of what it was like to step onto the Spotify Camp Nou pitch to play for the first time, what that moment meant to them and the emotion they feel every time they play.
The video emphasises how important the fans are, the driving force behind this journey, and shows their impact and importance over recent years, a true before and after moment. Far from being just a memory, that was the first step of the start of a new era. A journey that continues and will see a new chapter unfold on 2 April.
