Despite a performance that deserved some sort of reward, Barça Atlètic went down to 1-0 defeat in the Municipal de Sa Pobla against league leaders UD Poblense. Juliano Belletti's blaugrana dominated the encounter and had enough chances to take all three points but Onofre Reira's goal for the home side allowed Poblense to take the win. 

Going away from home to the league leaders held no fear for Barça Atlètic and they controlled the opening minutes of the first half. Chances, however, were few and far between for both teams with Fariñas going close for the blaugranes on 19 minutes, his effort coming back off the post. 

Poblense threatened intermittently but it was Barça who looked more likely to open the scoring with Dani Rodríguez pulling the strings in midfield. Rodríguez himself went close just after the half hour mark with a solo effort that flew just wide. Then the midfielder created a chance for Juan Hernández with Fariñas also having another chance before the sides went off at the break at 0-0. 

Setback

After the break Barça continued to push for the opening goal against a Poblense side with the best defensive record in the division coming into the game. The blaugranes continued to look the more dangerous of the two sides only for Onofre Riera to open the scoring just before the hour mark for Poblense. 

Coach Belletti used his bench in search of an equaliser and one of the substitutes, Oscar Gistau, went close bringing an excellent save from keeper Sabater. The blaugranes maintained the pressure with Aziz going close in injury time at the end of the second half but it was not to be as leaders Poblense held on for the win. Barça Atlètic will have to now pick themselves up and prepare for their next fixture which is away from home next Sunday to Terrassa.
