Onwards and upwards for Barça Women, as Pere Romeu's side win again in the Liga F, this time against Atlético Madrid. Goals by Alexia, Pina (x2), Brugts and Salma sealed the victory to make the most of the loss yesterday against Athletic Club by second-placed Real Madrid.

The day was also notable for Pajor receiving the award for MVP for December and María León being acknowledged for 300 games in blaugrana. It was also Claudia Pina's 200th competitive appearance and she celebrated in the best possible way with a brace.

Barça came out of the blocks quickly and were soon in the lead, captain Alexia Putellas with a great shot from the left into the far right corner (1-0, min 3). It wasn't long before it was two, Claudia Pina's effort from outside the box taking a deflection on her 200th appearance (2-0, min 13).

No further score by half-time, albeit Barça had created many chances. It was down to Esmee Brugts to next put the ball in the net, running through to slide the ball in with her left (3-0, min 58). Still more to come, as Pina got her brace, showing great awareness to put in the rebound after Lola Gallardo saved from Pajor (4-0, min 74).

Lastly, Salma Paralluelo sealed the victory with a goal from a Pajor assist (5-0, min 92) on her return after two months out due to injury. A great ending for a great game that sees Barça Women tighten their grip on the Liga F lead.
