Spanish Super Cup champions for the 16th time, FC Barcelona overcame Real Madrid in the final thanks to a brace from Raphinha and a goal from Robert Lewandowski in an intense encounter that went all the way down to the wire. After the game, coach Hansi Flick faced the media to explain his reaction his fourth trophy since becoming Barça coach. "This Super Cup is very important for us and winning it against Real Madrid makes it even bigger. It's great to win and more so if you do it well," said the Barça coach.
"For me the most important thing was to be able to win and impose our style of play. I am really proud of everyone."
Flick also touched on Barça's solidity during the encounter. "We played really well, we controlled the game. It was not easy but we fought like a team and that is great to see," said the German.
"The mentality of this team is incredible. We deserve it as all the players have battled for the team, for the badge and for the fans, 100%. That's the key, and the confidence we have."
To conclude, Hansi Flick looked towards the future: "When we are focused on playing as a team, as we have done tonight, it makes me optimistic for the team's future."
