Another clean sheet for the blaugranes, the fifth in a row, after a 5-0 demolition of Athletic Club de Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final. It is the first time since 2020 under coach Quique Setién that the team has recorded so many games in a row without conceding.
2-0 wins over Osasuna, Guadalajara, Villarreal, Espanyol and now the win over Athletic Club form the streak with three games coming in the league, one in the Copa del Rey and one in the Spanish Super Cup. Defensive solidity has been plain to see in recent encounters from Hansi Flick's team.
Joan Garcia and Ter Stegen, the goalkeepers
The goalkeepers have played a vital role in this run with Joan Garcia excelling in particular in the win against his former club Espanyol. Marc ter Stegen also played his part, keeping a clean sheet in the Copa del Rey against Guadalajara.
11 years on
Barça have now gone an entire month without conceding as the last time a team found the net against the blaugranes was Eintracht Frankfurt at Spotify Camp Nou on 9 December in the Champions League. That has not happened since Luis Enrique led his team to a month without conceding in August and September of 2014.
