Following their emphatic victory over Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals, FC Barcelona have booked their place in yet another final of the competition, to be played against the winners of Thursday's clash between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid. It will be Barça's fourth consecutive Super Cup final and the 28th overall, figures that further underline their dominance in the competition that they have won more than any other club (15).

Four in a row

Barça have now reached five finals in the eight editions played since the introduction of the current four-team format in 2020, which has always included the Catalans. The three most recent finals were all against Real Madrid, with Barça emerging victorious in 2022/23 and 2024/25, but the all-whites claiming the one in between.

Flick's perfect record

On the touchline, Hansi Flick continues to carve out his own story. The German coach has guided the team to a second Super Cup final, maintaining a 100% record in reaching finals under his stewardship. The next stop is to win the thing. Hopefully that's what's going to happen on Sunday.
