A red letter day in the calendar for many with Halloween and the Catalan tradition of 'la Castanyada' coming at the end of this month. One more FC Barcelona wishes to celebrate with the fans. For that reason the Barça's basketball fixture on Sunday 2 November at 5pm CET at the Palau Blaugrana will not just be any old league game. The visit of UCAM Murcia to Barcelona will be the perfect excuse to celebrate both Halloween and 'la Castanyada' - a festive occasion that Joan Peñarroya's team will try to bring to the court.
Activities at the Palau and the Museum
The activities arranged by the Club will start outside the Palau Blaugrana with chestnut stalls on the boulevard, decorated for Halloween along with music from a DJ on Friday 31 October and Saturday 1 November from 10am CET to 6pm CET and on Sunday from 10am CET to 3pm CET. Before the game at the Palau fans will also be able to visit the Museum which will also be decorated for the festivities with surprises inside to add to the frightening Halloween atmosphere.
Furthermore, for the younger fans, and not so you maybe, there will be face painting available for culers to get fully into the spirit of the occasion in the Palau. Inside the Palau there will be the usual games for the fans in the stands and on the video scoreboard as well as Fan Cams and dance teams. On this occasion there will also be a fancy dress contest, pumpkin and 'panallet' races and more surprises for the those who want to experience a very special Barça v UCAM Murcia.
